29 WEEK STATS | BABY #3

another week, another bumpdate! and friends...i'm bumping. bumping so hard.
guess who grew? spoiler...it's me and this belly. we are all sorts of boom baby. and i really just wish i could say i'm 30 weeks already...as if that 3 in front of the 0 justifies the largeness. but...whatever helps me sleep at night.
and by sleep at night i mean - i've been going to bed super late and still waking up around 4 am. it's the worst. by 5:30 pm i'm dragging and just want to sit...on the couch...forever. my poor poor girls.

but seriously - i need to keep telling myself that this is not a permanent state. so maybe they're playing a little extra ipad lately. or maybe i'm a little more short-tempered with them. and how about that guilt about really sucking at making dinner lately because the idea of cooking food makes me nauseous.

all temporary.

just hang in there girls! mommy will be back! i'll still be tired, but at least i'll have a baby sister for you to woo about!
29 WEEK STATS | BABY #3

THE NAME GAME | OH MY GOSH! you all have been so helpful in the name department! some of the names made it on to my list and some inspired some fresh ideas. i'm stuck on two particular names this week...but i was stuck on one name a few weeks ago and now i hate that...so i just never know what's going to pan out.

keep the name suggestions coming! they are so so appreciated!

kaye's latest and greatest suggestion this week - Flower Dash. it reminds me a lot of the name Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony...so i can't say it's incredibly original. i liked last weeks name suggestion of Dorris much more.

WEIGHT GAIN / WORK OUTS | 12. 12 pounds is the weight gain status. and let me tell you - 12 pounds feels heavy. and by heavy i mean my whole body feels like - thunk. yes...the noise. i don't know how to describe it. i don't remember feeling this way with the girls, but with this one it's almost like i'm moving differently. i think i may be waddling a bit. i don't feel quite as spritely. my extra weight may even be the reason my treadmill is no longer working. yes...let's talk about that.

my beloved treadmill kicked the bucket. it'll run for a minute and then all of a sudden just stop. then it says - Get off me, tub-o.

obviously it doesn't. and i'm sure it's just coincidence...but i really really wish it was still running. i either need to drop some coin on a new one or see if i can get a technician to come to the farm. yeah...not likely.

regardless - i'm still getting my fitness on. i'm doing HIIT workouts as well as run / walks. i think i could run / walk forever. i did five miles the other day on accident because i lost track...but still felt great at the end. so...run / walking is where it's at.
SYMPTOMS | when i head back to the doctor here in a few weeks i'm going to bring up this heartburn issue. it seems to be even worse than what it was with either girl. and don't tell me it means the baby will have a great head of hair, because both my gals were born bald.

other than the heartburn i can't complain.

SIZE OF BABY | this little muff is the size of a butternut squash. 15 inches and 2 1/2 pounds. i tried to show kaye the other day the approximate size of the baby and i think i freaked her out. she just looked at me with horror. speaking of horror...

KAYE'S THOUGHTS | i'm not sure how this girl isn't horrified, but she seems to be taking everything in complete stride. she asked me how the baby is going to get out of my belly...and yes. i'm the mom who told her the truth. she knows we'll be going to the hospital. she knows how the baby will be delivered. and she knows there will be blood. then she asked if she could be there. that girl...she just kills me! good lord - i'm so in love with her.

she's also super excited to watch the baby nurse...but also feed the baby bottles. she knows she can't give the baby food, but that when mommy has enough milk she'll be able to sit on the couch and feed her. kaye is going to be the very very best big sister.

sawyer...

SAWYER'S THOUGHTS | well, the fact that she gets right up to my belly and screams, "HEY BABY BABY BABY!!!" in a strange monster voice and then aggressively tickles my belly. this all makes me...cautiously optimistic? sawyer is my little ham and if she's anything like i was growing up...she will give exactly two sh*ts about the baby. this is my official prediction.

it's not that she'll be mean or jealous or not love the baby...she'll just be like, "oh hey baby," and then continue to do her own thing.

PURCHASES | i just got a box from Pottery Barn Kids full of goodies and i'm in love! there's the cutest XO pillow and the softest knit blanket. i ordered the blanket purely for purposes of photographing or sweet baby girl. priorities, right? i also received a new boppy nursing pillow and cover because i have exactly zero recollection of where i could have possibly stashed the one i used with the gals. i thought i gave it to my sister, but...i guess not.

the best part - all of this cost $0 because i had some Pottery Barn gift cards stashed away...that i had actually forgotten about.

i also had some paint delivered because i'm refinishing the navy blue dresser and the white changing table. i can't wait to reveal how those turn out!
last bit - i'm thinking of getting these t-shirts made. i was on the hunt for some sister shirts for kaye and sawyer to wear to the hospital, but i just couldn't find any that i like, so i jazzed some up. but...i'd rather just purchase a t-shirt, so if anyone has a favorite shop they've used, let me know!
CRIES THIS WEEK | i'm back to my heartless self. no cries in the past two weeks. i'm really burying all those emotions deep deep down.

actually, i can say that there has been a direct correlation between the girl's behavior, how much my farmer has been around and the stability of my emotions.

the girls have been so good and my farmer (even though he's still so ridiculously busy) has been able to spend more time with us. he's been coming home on the daily and snagging one or both the girls to work with him for bits of time during the day...which is a total god-send. and yes - all of this has resulted in no cries. hallelujah.

ps. did you see the gender reveal video i posted several weeks ago? i still can't get enough of it.

  1. I'm just a week behind you and I feel huge. Like I was worried huge. Because I am feeling now like I did at the end of my other pregnancies. Supposedly it's that #3 that does that to you. I'm super tired too and I hear ya on the heartburn. I mostly just can't bend over anymore! Ha. :)

  2. It's so funny that you mention being tired because my whole second trimester, I was like "WOO ENERGY!" But now that the third trimester starts on Sunday, all I want are naps.

  3. I am loving these progress reports.
And Flower Dash is an excellent name. Makes you sound like a celebrity mom.

  4. Sawyer and Nash aren't same person...only different genders, of course ;) Hartley cringes as soon as Nash walks into the room. She just knows he's going to do something REALLY loud or fall on her. Anyway, you look darling...and you really are in the home stretch!!!

  5. Haha, I'm just loving the sisters name suggestions - we had Twinkle, Starlight, Rosie and Lavendar (not stripper names or anything!) x

  6. I always far more short tempered and less patient while pregnant. I hate it! Our girl name that apparently we won't be using ever is Blakely Lorelai. You really can't go wrong with either! ;-)

  7. I keep leaving you comments with baby girl name suggestions because it is just too fun to think of names. One of my best friends had a baby girl yesterday and named her Ellory Mae. So darling.
