today i'm here to ask a little question - how do i stop blogging?

answer - you just do.

i don't know what it is as of recent, but for the past several months i just can't get my act together. the evening will roll around and i have zero things to say.

yep - i totally took pictures that day of my two best gals acting like wild animals and jumping off things, but they aren't beautiful pictures, so why bother posting them. i mean...that's what i'm supposed to be doing, right? everything has to be perfect?

perfect content.
perfect pictures.
perfect color scheme.
perfect layout.

talk about blogging pressure. that's a lot of pressure for a hobby.

i could talk about my working out some more...but i'm already so exhausted from working out i don't want to write about it too.

i could talk about how my flowers are still alive (pats self on back), but that would be the extent of the story.

so maybe i just need to get attacked by a snake again and then bludgeon it to death with the edge of a shovel. that was a pretty decent story to tell...but really...i'd prefer to never have that happen again as long as i live.

what do you do when you're feeling oh so uninspired?

maybe i need to revisit that list i made about blog post ideas for a schlump.

regardless, hang in there with me. i'll be back. probably next month when this damn workout challenge is over and i'm not thinking about working out // what i ate // what i need to eat // what am i going to eat tomorrow.

in the meantime, if you do have advice, help a gal out. where do you turn for inspiration?

  1. I feel like you read my mind! I have wanted to write so much but I just dont feel like it's worthy of anyone wanting to read it. So I just have quit. For some reason today I just felt like I needed to write and I did and I dont know if anyone will even read but I did it because I wanted to remember things! I feel the blog world lately has just gone silent and it's not as active anymore.

Hope you can find some inspiration!!!

  2. I don't care what you post I'll read But at least I have snap to keep me occupied in the meantime. :) It happens to us all...when in doubt farmlife with the girls is always something we love to read!

  3. I completely understand girl. Whenever you have inspiration or feel likes are ready I'll be here to read and enjoy. Until then enjoy yourself!! You are a rockstar with this workout stuff. And I hope there are no more charging snakes either.

  4. I think we have all been there at one point or another. Do your thing and we'll still be here when you want to come back :) And I admire you doing the workout challenge. I do not have that much will power.

  5. Me too sweet friend - I have so much blog stuff going on in my headset I just can't.... Why?!

  6. Story of my life. My husband kindly reminds me of why I started my blog, to help other mommas. So if I dont have anything to say I am just patient until I am inspired and it takes the pressure completely off. My favorite posts by you and other bloggers are the ones with passion behind it. Passion never has to be forced. I appreciate your honesty and don't mind patiently waiting.

  7. I'm going through it right now too...I haven't posted since 5/13. And even before then it was a bit sporadic and definitely not amazing content. I often think about just stopping altogether...who reads this stuff anyway? LOL j/k...well, that may be true of mine. I think about just truly getting back to myself without any pressures of the social media posting, etc...something I really just need to do I think. I want to clear my head, get my workouts back on track and spend some time in real time with real people...I think that's where I'm at right now, and that's OK.

  8. Everyone needs a blogging break sometimes. I hate that I feel guilty when I don't blog much but sometimes life gets in the way and blogging should not get in the way of life. Just remember you can always come back to it even if you decide after a week you miss it so much.

  9. Girl, you're just so dang cute, I'd read anything that you post! Just keep on doing what your doing, and most importantly, if you need a break, then take one! The last thing you want is to get burned out.

  10. I'm right there with you. I always wondered why some bloggers take a planned summer vacations... until last summer happened and the last thing I wanted to do was open my laptop. I went a solid month without even logging in to WordPress. You do you - your groove will come back eventually!

  11. Eek! I feel this way a lot. Take a break if you need one :) I'll definitely always be checking back in!

  12. You know I have been a long time reader and love your blog. I will read anything. I love your recipe posts, updates on the girls, shopping and everything in between. I get writers block too. Sometimes I feel like my life is boring and no one wants to read about it, but sometimes us mommies want to read what other mommies are doing and see how we can change ourselves for the better. I love watching your girls grow up and seeing what I have to look forward to (Sawyer is a couple months older than my twins). So whenever you are ready to come back, I will be here reading your blog again.

  13. Oh how I know EXACTLY what you are talking about!!! I'm practically an expert in this! ;) Take some time and before you know it, you'll have loads to fill us in on. But, don't overlook the every day, ordinary. That's what I love reading about! I much prefer reading and getting to know the people behind the blog verses how to do something, cook something, grow something. Hang in there! You've got this!

  14. Oh yeah, I've been there too. It's hard getting motivated when you're just not feeling it. I say plan some fun stuff with the kids and take your camera along. Having pretty pictures is usually enough to inspire me to post them. And photos alone are basically my style post these days anyway.

this gal loves your comments so feel free to leave one or seven!
