why so uninspired?

talk about a downer post. this totally sucks.

i've been in a pretty nasty blogging rut for months now and i just can't seem to get out of it. i've been feeling so uninspired.

guess it's time to get pregnant again so i can post about baby goodies and weekly bump-dates.

(oh...is that not the right reason to get pregnant? for blogging?)

i guess i'm feeling uninspired because it feels like i do three things -

1 - workout

2 - work on my party paper

3 - play with my girls

in addition to that...i haven't been seeing my farmer a whole heck of a lot, you know, what with the farming and all.

and and...i'm just kind of a downer. whomp whomp. i'm sure everyone feels so bad for me.

oh wait...no they don't. and why should they? i just got back from a little mini vay-cay in the mountains.

but you all know what i mean, right? when you just feel in a funk because you're in a funk?

is that where the positive self-talk comes in and i tell myself, "get your sh*t together karli. life is good."

maybe i'll go put some makeup on and eat a healthy lunch. that'll make me feel less funky too.

and then...maybe i'll be able to put pen to paper...errr...fingers to keyboard and write something worthwhile. riiight?

so tell me...what are you magic tricks to pull yourself out of a funky, uninspired mood? help a gal out.

  1. reading a good book...even if it is a few pages...helps me.

  2. Glad it isn't just me feeling this way lately. I don't necessarily feel like I'm in a blog rut, but a life rut. Ready to shake things up a bit! (So truthfully- even though I am super jealous of your McCall getaway, I TOTALLY feel you!). I try to do something creative; like go to a paint-your-own-pottery studio, or do an at home craft. I also buy myself flowers, or a cheap-ish piece of comfy clothing that makes lounging around more enjoyble. Or I just complain to my best girlfriends ;) Hope you come out of your rut soon!

  3. Go on a coffee date with yourself and people watch for awhile. Or call your girls, get babysitters, have wine, and enjoy each others company. If you want something active, a hike always gets me out of my head. Solo with your Farmer, or whomever, just get out there and disconnect for a bit. Hope one of those helps. xoxo, ganeeban

  4. Totally understand this feeling! I have felt in a rut for a while just in life, which translates to the blog since I blog about my life! There's just nothing much exciting going on in my life right now, so I feel like I blog about the same boring stuff over and over. :/

  5. We all have those days and those blog ruts. Give yourself a break if you need it :)

  6. This sounds silly but take time to do something for yourself that you loved doing as a kid. A while back I was in a rut with exercise, diet, mood, and generally life lol so I started to think of what made me happy when I was a child...and that was dance. I dance about 4-5 nights a week growing up so I found a nearby studio that offered walk-in adult dance classes. I put on a pair of yoga pants and a tank and after a simple hour my mood was completely different :)

  9. I'm right there with ya, girl. In a total funk right now and not quite sure what to write about. My page views have taken a hit because I just think my material is a bit uninspired right now...Maybe it's just the time of year??? Maybe all us bloggers need to get together and do something crazy so we all have something to write about, lol!

  10. write about something that scares you, it'll help get you out of your comfort zone.

  11. Doing something unexpected for someone else...not for the people you do for everyday. Blow someone away with a random act, either in secret or telling them. Either one (way more fun secretly) always inspires me. Ruts are not necessarily a bad thing, it could be a time for refreshment and rest. If not, have another beer! Works for me.

  12. I'm with ya girl! I've been uninspired and blah. I will read a book of do something crafty. That usually helps my mood and relaxes me. Hmmm, I wonder what we could do as bloggers to boost each other?

  13. Usually when I feel this way I go for a car ride and crank the music up to where it's practically hurting!

  14. This blogging rut thing is a REAL thing - I am no pro but I find my groove again by doing things I love and enjoy which then speaks something new and fun for the blog... Baking, recipes, book or movie reviews, fun at home or DIY. Always something to enjoy! Time is of the essence though - and we are in the same boat with gorgeous husbands, two sweet girls and a new business on the horizon!! Good luck lovely lady x

  15. Definitely think everyone goes through this....I sure have. I search around for things to write about and sometimes even pulling together a Friday Favorite list is tough. I think you have to go back to thinking about why you really started this blog to begin with...for your readers or to keep a record of your memories. Stick with what you love to write about and if you're feeling funky...write a life in the day post or something to show how things just aren't that glamorous in the middle of harvest! You have a good following because you are honest and real and have a beautiful family...everyone will be waiting when you find your groove again.
