oh hey, friday! | random up in here (up in here)

well, i think it's pretty clear i've reached a new level of crazy.

i came up with a new color scheme for the oh hey, friday! button for both february as well as spring.

i get equally as excited to reveal it as the previous each time. meanwhile, you all probably think it's annoying trying keep up with an ever-changing button. i just can't help myself.

anyway...i do believe you all know the drill:

1. grab this here snazzy valentine button and link back to September F A R M.
2. link up your post at the bottom of this post.
3. have a fantastic friday.

1 | ain't no thang - this beauty was delivered on wednesday (after four months of waiting) and it's oh so beautiful. it will live in the bathroom we are finally getting around to finishing in our basement...which is where the girls will eventually share a room...but for now, just kaye's room is there. regardless, those spoiled girls are going to have a WAY nicer bathroom than our master, and i'm already jealous. if i could go back four years i would make a different decision on nearly every design choice i made in our home. first world problems, people. first world problems.

2 | did you all have a chance to see the saved by the bell skit jimmy fallon put together? you did? watch it again. you didn't? watch it immediately.

jimmy fallon - i adore you.

3 | but back to that sink console. it came with that gorgeous marble countertop, but now i have to pick out fixtures. this is my least favorite thing. i think i'm leaning towards this one on the left in the satin nickel finish.
source
or maybe the one on the right? i don't know...

4 | if you follow my instagram you saw that i'm participating in the #1800minutechallenge with erin over at living in yellow
basically, it's exactly as it sounds. our goal is to complete 1800 minutes of physical activity over the next 60 days. it averages out to be 30 minutes a day. yesterday i got my sweat on on the treadmill while both girls were napping. when both girls nap at the same time...it's magic. i had the baby monitor going, the iPad was playing the biggest loser, and i slammed out 65 minutes. i also turned an impressive shade of purple...so i've got that going for me. i'm loving this challenge because i feel like it's holding me accountable to move my ass. seriously...this should be my mantra.

5 | speaking of moving my a**...i'm totally going back and forth and back and forth about getting a fitbit. anyone out there have one? thoughts?

okay...linkup time. get busy.

  1. I'm on the fence about getting a Fitbit too. If you wind up getting one, I'd love to see a blog post about your experience with it.

  2. I really want a fitbit...I need to read more reviews about them as well as here some friends personal experience. I also kind of want to see how it works. :)

  3. Hey, Karli!! Finally getting in on the Friday fun here ;) Thanks for co-hosting the link up! LOVING your new vanity/sink -- it'll look fantastic in your bathroom! Best wishes with your challenge...I'm sure you'll rock it! ;) Have a lovely weekend! xo

  4. I like the faucet on the left... So pretty! We just got the fit bit flex from my husband's work (their fitness program is pretty cool). It's not the fancy bracelet kind but at $50 it's a nice alternative.

  5. LOVE Jimmy Fallon & loved that skit!!! oooooooh, that bathroom is going to be gorgeous!

  6. Thanks for co-hosting! I love my fitbit! I teach and wear it all day. It will really surprise you just how may steps you take in a day. I have never heard of the 1800 minute challenge, but I love the idea! I am really trying to like running, so a fun challenge like that might just actually get me going.

  7. Ok so there is just too much goodness going on here. That vanity is just the most amazing thing and I think the faucet on the left for shizz.

I might have to check out this 1800 minute thing bc I have traded my running shoes for other classes lately and I don't know if I will make it, BUT since I have the fitbit flex and I'm a bit maniacal about hitting 10k steps (def doesn't happen as much as it should), I bet I could make this work too? PS you need to get one and "friend me" "follow me" whatever they call it so we can challenge each other. You would totally kick my ass like the other blogger gals on the weekly leaderboard....

  8. I have a FitBit and I love it. I started out with a Jawbone Up band, which I wasn't too fond of. The FitBit lets you check your progress through the day while tapping it, so you can always meet your goal! I link mine up with the MyFitnessPal app to track my food and water intake. I think it's amazing and helpful, plus you can buy different bands to switch them out to coordinate with your outfit. I say go for it!

  9. Love the vanity. I'm jealous of your girls' bathroom now too:) I'm liking the faucet on the left too - but they are both gorgeous!:) And that Jimmy Fallon skit is everywhere today! I finally watched it and loved it. And wondered how Slater still looks exactly the same. We need to know his secrets.

    Happy weekend, friend!:)

  10. I got a fitbit Charge a couple months ago and I love it!! I have it synced with my phone and when someone calls, the name/number pops up on the bracelet. Also, once I complete a goal, fireworks show up on the display. It's super fun!

    ReplyDelete
  11. Thank you thank you for posting that Saved by the Bell/Jimmy Fallon clip! I meant to watch it the other day, but then my little one woke from her nap and I didn't get a chance!

  12. I vote the counter tops to the right! They bring a really soft touch to the gold sink. You and I have the same type of style. I love that sink you got! It's so rustic chic! Oh Jimmy Fallon... That man is just amazing. :)

  13. So, I like the fixture on the right better. Now you're even more confused, right? Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE my fitbit. Can't say enough good things about it. I bought a flex last January and it basically never left my arm and has helped me SO much. I upgraded to the charge last month and like it even better. SO worth it!

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'm swooning over your about to be new bathroom---I hope your girls will properly "swoon," too! :)

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm super keen on the fitbit too! x

    ReplyDelete
  16. Love love love my fitbit! It def. motivates me to move my ass! Like last night when I was 600 steps away from 10k and I was running on my elliptical in my pajamas...no shame!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Have a Fitbit, totally in love with it! I bought the FitBit Charge HR when it came out in January and I have barely taken it off since buying it (only to shower and charge it). It is worth every penny imo! I love tracking my steps, mins active, calories, flights climbed, sleep, weight, etc. And it is so fun competing with and cheering on friends! I'm more active because of it!

  18. I ordered FitBits for my husband and I a few weeks ago and we're loving them! We both got the FitBit One model. I wrote my review of it here: http://www.adiamondwithsapphires.com/fitbit-one-review/

  19. what lucky little girls with that vanity! all the heart eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Ok--that vanity is fabulous. I love the fixtures on the right, but I think the fixtures on the left fit better with the overall style. I see your dilemma.

Also, I am super jealous of your treadmill. It is far too cold to run outside--especially with a baby.

  21. I love that new bathroom vanity… Can't wait to see how you decorate it in your bathroom!! I bet is is amazing :)
    Happy Friday

  23. I love my fitbit!! I highly recommend getting one. It definitely pushes you to get those steps in each day. Ok, your new bathroom vanity, beautiful!!! I wish I had a bathroom that big for something like that. Have a great weekend :)

  24. I can't get over that Fallon clip. Absolute hilarity...do they ever age? I am in love with that vanity...so gorgeous! I wonder if I could talk my husband into a bathroom makeover? I just got a Fitbit Charge HR and LOVE it so far. I've only had it for a couple of days, but it's already holding me accountable to keep moving. Thanks for hosting, friend. It's my first time to link up and I'm excited to be here. Happy weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Love the new button! Jimmy Fallon is seriously my fav -as in he rocks my socks! haha That clip is perfection and they really have some food anti-aging skills! Happy weekend! xo

  26. Thanks for posting the video! I hadn't seen it but I have heard about it. It made me laugh so hard! My friend and I are doing a 50 miles in 6 weeks challenge which is kind of similar to yours. :)

  27. Jimmy Fallon is 100% killing it this week. I love it!

  28. I have a fit bit and love it...literally tell myself to get my butt moving every hour at work!!! Love the SBTB reunion this week - it was amazing!! Happy Friday! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

  29. I also love my fitbit. It makes me aware even on the days I am not exercising to get up and move once in a while!! Have a wonderful week :)

  30. I have the garmin vivofit and I love it!!! It provides so much information that you can track on your phone!

  31. I have a fitbit and I really don't use it that often.. I bought one that clips onto you vs the wrist band for $100. It's a great little tool but I often wonder how accurate it is since it tracks how many calories you are burning and sometimes I think the number is way off. I go in stages where I use it for a week straight and then by the weekend I give up once I have to charge it again.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I adore Jimmy Fallon too! Saved by the Bell was one of my childhood favorites! Good job on 65 minutes! I have no idea how you do it!

    ReplyDelete
  33. My input on the faucet is the satin finish....less fingerprints! I'm going to have to check into that challenge...it's always fun to have some accountablity.

    ReplyDelete
  34. That vanity is gorgeous, but (as my husband will attest) I do not envy you choosing hardware. When he gutted and remodeled our entire master bathroom last year, I nearly drove him out of his mind with the hemming and hawing and hesitation and second guessing. I'm always terrified to pull the trigger and end up hating it. I have zero input on the Fitbit. I don't even wear a watch, because it drives me nutty to have anything even remotely bulky on my wrist. (You should see me with my Magic Band from Disney; you'd think it was made from acid and fire ants, the way I constantly fuss with it. Note to self: avoid life of crime so you never have wear an ankle tracking device because I bet that's just as aggravating.) I always wonder how people sleep with the bands that track your sleep patterns.

  35. I have a Garmin Vivo Fit, but it is basically the same thing as the fitbit. It will def. hold you accountable!! Get one, you will love it.

  36. Love that vanity! I'm on the fence about a Fit Bit too, I kind of think it would be awesome to have but also I'm cheap and don't want to spend the money. Have a great weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  37. That bathroom vanity is awesome! I want it...however, neither one of our bathrooms is big enough...unless my husband finally decides to give us the master bathroom we both want/need.

Also, I have not seen the Saved by the Bell skit yet but it is waiting for me on the DVR. Hopefully tonight. :)

  38. Busy Link up today! I actually received that exact Fit Bit you pictured for Christmas:). I do like it, but it's not super accurate. I had to stop wearing it on my wrist and put it in my pocket because I don't swing my arms a lot when I walk. I'm either holding my enormous purse up or crossing my arms to stay warm and it wasn't counting those steps. I like that it just keeps me thinking about moving and staying active though! The sleep feature is kind of fun too:).

  39. So....we wrote very similar Oh Hey Friday posts haha! I am obsessed with the Jimmy Fallon Saved by the Bell skit!! And I'm also excited about the #1800minutechallenge - although i'm a little behind already......
I do have a Fitbit flex and am loving it so far! It has made me very aware of how little I move some days!

    ReplyDelete
  40. I have a fitbit. I NEVER use it. It was cool the first week and now its just obnoxious. It's one of those you have to wear alllllll the time and ain't nobody got time for that. I will give you mine fo' free, just so i don't have to look at it laying around collecting dust any longer.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I have been wanting the fitbit flex for quite a while too. Thanks for the linkup !!

    ReplyDelete
  42. I've been on the fence about the fitbit for a while too. While I've heard nothing but good things about how useful they are, the steep price tag is something I still can't wrap my head around when there's many free but maybe not quite as reliable cell phone apps to monitor that stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I bought a Garmin GPS heart rate monitor watch a few weeks ago, and it only monitors your steps unless you are wearing the heart rate monitor strap around your chest. It's main use is to monitor your heart rate while you're exercising as well as the calories burned which is based off your heart rate. I've yet to try out the heart rate or gps part of it yet, but I like it so far. I researched a lot about the different types of fitness watches/monitors and felt this one would be the most accurate for calories burned since it uses the heart rate monitor. A lot of things I read said the Fitbits aren't very accurate counting steps, calories etc, but they can help you be accountable and get up and move more.

  44. I have the Jawbone Up and sometimes I wish I didn't have it. It's like it's scolding me because I've not worked out in a week!!

  45. oh we love Jimmy Fallon! We've started DVRing it just to watch it the next night because we're losers aka parents of a newborn and a toddler and we can't hardly stay up long enough!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I love that vanity! I like the fixture on the right better just because it looks more like a bathroom fixture whereas the one on the left I would totally choose for my kitchen. You really can't go wrong though!

    ReplyDelete
  47. left left left! After living in an apartment with short sink faucets I envy tall faucets!

    ReplyDelete
  48. the Jimmy Fallon skit was absolutely everything. I died ten times over.

  49. The bathroom vanity is to die for. Totally gorgeous and it makes me soo ready to build a house.
That Jimmy Fallon skit is hilarious. I jumped up and down on the sofa and squealed with delight as I watched it. My inner 90's child just came out. I couldn't stop it.
And I soo want a Fit Bit. My fiance and son (he's 12) both have one and they like theirs. They use it in conjunction with the My Fitness Pal App. Fingers crossed that I get one for my birthday next week.

  50. That is an amazing bathroom set, and when your girls are old enough they will so appreciate it! But then they will probably be fighting over whos taking too much time in the bathroom because they love being in there so much. I love the faucet on the left - and that SBTB skit - amaze! Cant believe it took so long. Now if only we could have reruns of all my TGIF shows tonight. Happy Friday lady!

    ReplyDelete
  51. That sink is to. die. for. All the heart eyed emojis. Both faucet fixtures are gorgeous but I think the one on the right fits the look of the sink better. Have a great weekend girl!

  52. I'm on my second day of using my fitbit flex. Loving it. Never realized I take this many steps. I recommend it.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm going back and forth on the fitbit as well. I have a polar but want to switch it up.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I have been wondering about the FitBit lately also. Hmmmm...

LOVED that Saved by the Bell video! Made my day the other morning.

    ReplyDelete
  55. So the fit bit was recalled last year for people having a reaction to the nickel in the band, yeah, I'm one of those people. I was super sad, I liked it. I did not like the burn like rash that spread up my arm or the scar that is still there. :( I am thinking of trying the Nikefuel.
    Fallon this week = hilarious!
Isn't it crazy how an excel spreadsheet can get you moving?! Good stuff!

  56. I have a fitbit and I love it. I have the flex and I wish I had the one with the clock on it. Also beware of the small parts with fitbit, I lost the charger within one week of having it because it's so tiny!

    ReplyDelete
  57. I have a fitbit and love it, keeps me motivated, you should get one and start up a big step group with all your fitbit followers!!
    xx

  58. I got a Fitbit flex for Christmas and I really like it! My only complaint is that it doesn't record my "very active" minutes very well. However, I've found a way around that by syncing it with MyFitnessPal and I can now not only track those extra activity minutes and calories, I can also track calories in vs calories out. It's just a really great tool for keeping on track!

    ReplyDelete
  59. I am loving the faucet on the left :) Also, I just bought a FitBit Flex in January and I love it! It has really kept me motivated :D

    ReplyDelete
  60. I have a FitBit. Actually it's my second one. First I had the clip on one. What is that called, just One or something? Anyway, while it was inconspicuous, which I liked, it was super easy to lose. Thus why I ended up with the Flex, I think it is. The wrist version. I liked most things about it, but after several weeks of wearing it, I just really got sick of having it on my wrist. If I was working out and got sweaty it was especially irritating. It's not that it really irritated my skin per se, but just the feeling of having it on got really old. So it is now sitting in my desk drawer and I haven't worn it in at least a month.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I have a FitBit and I love it! It helps me see exactly what I do during my day. I set a low goal at first and am slowly increasing my goal to get more steps in per day. I love that it is one app that does it all; I can track my steps, calories, water, weight and sleep all in one. I say it is worth the money for it in the long run and especially if you are using it. You could also track your exercises separately and at the end of the week it gives you a nice little summary of everything you did for that week.

  62. Wow, so many comments here! YES YES YES to the Saved By the Bell video. Just, yes!

As for the Fitbit, my friend has one so I contacted her before purchasing one for my husband, and that was the greatest idea. She told me the difference between each of the models and why she would recommend the Charge instead of the Flex, even though she has a One. (In case you wanted to know, she wears her One on her bra, so it works really well for her. Her siblings and parents have the Flex, but she found they weren't actively using the program because it doesn't show the steps on the band itself. The Charge is a watch and has a screen with various views, so that was what she recommended for me to get my husband. I did, and he loves it. Now I'm toying with the idea of getting one, but I can't decide if I'd want the Charge or the One. Decisions, decisions!)

  63. I am absolutely in love with the vanity you have above. Where did you purchase this from?
