1 | i totally managed to get my farmer off the farm for a little ski vay-cay. so far...so amazing. we're staying in a beautiful townhouse that our friends are so generously letting us occupy. we just arrived this afternoon, and so far, none of us have had any issue making ourselves at home.
2 | the townhouse is in the middle of a lovely resort, complete with it's own pub. since it's thursday night, we basically had the delicious pub to ourselves. first we ate dinner, then we challenged some some locals to a game of beer-pong and lost...terribly. meanwhile, turtle discovered automatic doors and had the night of her life.
3 | tomorrow we'll get the turtle on skis...again. we'll see if she's a one hit wonder or if she really has what it takes at two years old.
4 | in other news...my very best muffin got her two month shots on wednesday. i have never seen a more unhappy muffin. we're talking real tears from my sweet girl's eyes. it might have been the saddest thing i've ever seen. luckily, it seems the sadness only lasted the duration of wednesday and she's back to her old, cooing self.
5 | and in final news...i have no final news. unless you count totally sticking to my resolution of being mindful of the trash i put in my mouth. i've really cut back on the snacking. now that i've really been keeping track, i'm shocked at how much i actually was grabbing for food when i wasn't even hungry. i'll be posting some progress pictures next week.

spoiler: there hasn't been much progress. at least i can't see a difference.

okay...link up time!

  1. I'm so, so jealous of your ski vacation! In good 'ole SC, we are lucky to a dusting of snow each year and I've always wanted to take a trip to somewhere out west and stay in a real ski lodge. Too bad the hubs hates snow! Hope y'all have the best time! Can't wait to hear how Kaye does!

  2. Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your trip! Looks like where you are staying is absolutely beautiful:) Seeing that picture of Sawyer getting her shots reminds me of the first time Caleb got shots. He cried big ol' real tears too, and I wanted to kill the nurse for doing that to him (over protective mama bear much?) Glad to hear your sweet muffin girl is doing better now though!!!:)

  3. Looks like ya'll are having a great time!! And your Turtle is already better on skis than I'd ever be! :) HAVE FUN!!! -Dorrie @ Bear Den Plantation

  4. Enjoy your ski vacation! It's amazing with the snacking, I keep catching myself going I'm not even hungry why am I eating?!

  5. Ah! I've always wanted to go to a ski resort! It looks like so much fun! I'm glad your little one is feeling better. I must agree with her, shots are no fun...

  6. Little Turtle on the skis is my best!!!! Too cute! x

  7. The fact that Turtle can ski really puts a lot of pressure on me.. I'm headed to CO in two weeks and my bff is taking me skiing for the first time! Scared and excited all at the same time! Have a fantastic weekend!

  8. That looks like such a fun vaca! Your kids are SOO cute! My son is dying to go skiing, we live in Fla so he has never seen real snow!

  9. I hope you have so much fun on your little ski-cation. Mountain escapes are the best! Sun Valley dare I guess? And is that a Moscow Mule? - I got a kit for Christmas and I'm basically addicted. Happy Friday!

  10. My little one hasn't yet discovered automatic doors, but I have a feeling that when she does it will be hard to drag her away from them!

Ugh I hate shots! I hate that look of betrayal in a baby's eyes when it happens. Breaks my heart. I just have to keep reminding myself that the look is better than the possible alternative.

  11. You and your amazing ski vacations...I would go just for the cute little ski town and cocktails you know. Oh and to support your little turtle that she gets back up on those skis again! Seriously at 2...I can't even stand it! Have fun...can't wait to hear all about it!

  12. Looks like you'er having a great vacation! It is so smart to get her on skis right away! It's so much easier to learn that kind of thing at her age!! :)
