two turtles + no time to blog + first week survival

first world problems over here.

i have three blog posts half written and no idea when i'll be able to get them posted.

as it turns out...mom of two = no time.

and by no time i mean i spend a solid majority of the day sitting on my rear with a baby in my arms watching terrible tv (vanderpump, RHNJ, DWTS, etc).
if that's not happening, i'm dozing off mid-sentence. seriously...i've never napped so much in all my days.

in addition, it's become increasingly more difficult to finish a sentence let alone type one out.

but, with my sister being here, my house isn't in shambles, everyone is showered, and we're well fed. we even had a champagne brunch on sunday...which i'm going to make a tradition. literally every sunday. sounds good to me.

you may be wondering how our sweet sweet turtle is doing. i'm talking about kaye here...
well. i think i would give her a solid B for the first week. there was one really really REALLY (halloween) bad day when we had the unhappiest little cowgirl EVER...but the rest have been good with some minor emotional breakdowns.
at first it was all about kaye not wanting sawyer in my arms. well...that's not gonna happen, sister...so she had to get over that really quickly.
we make sure to show her one on one time still...and my sister being here has been great for that. play-doh for an hour...turtle can get on board with that.

with each day that passes, kaye seems to be accepting more and more that our family is now four. she likes to give sawyer pat-pats on the head and little kisses. sometimes she just likes to stand close to her and if sawyer makes a noise kaye will squeal and get super excited. i can't say that it doesn't melt my heart.
our first week is in the books and we're in good shape. i can't say i'm not scared about having both girls by myself...but i'll survive, right? maybe i'll just kidnap my sister. if you hear about a northern california woman gone missing...you'll know she's trapped on the farm.

  2. Oh what a sad little face Kaye has. Being a big sister is tough. I get it. I've got two younger sisters. You'll all adjust to the little one's arrival though. She's a cutie.

  3. I am so super excited for your little farm family! Sawyer is such a doll and Kaye will be a fantastic big sister. Granted I am sure the transition is tough, but the bonds of sisterhood will win out ;). I am sure my sister was thrrrillled when I showed up....not!

  4. Don't even worry about not having time to blog right now! You will find your groove one day soon and be back at it with a vengeance! Just surviving right now sounds good enough to me (I'm taking notes as I'm not far behind you - check my blog tomorrow if you get a chance; ). And oh, Kaye. Poor, sweet baby. It's hard to share the throne after reigning alone for so long. But soon she'll figure out that having a partner in crime is a lot more fun than being an only child!:)

  18. My girl is 3.5 and my boy is 15 mos. Back when he was teensy tinym he was nursing and DD wanted me to get her something, I told her she'd have to wait for brother to finish. Several minutes later she came over, pushed his head from me and said "all done, Brudder".

  20. Everyone is showered?! Heck, most days I still struggle to bathe and my kiddo is five months old. I'd say you're doing an AMAZING job!

Not that you need one more thing to do, but if you get a chance, you should check out the fun Instagram link up I'm co-hosting on the blog! It features an awesome giveaway, too... :)

  21. Love all the sweet pictures of your girls! And the name Sawyer, love it! Speaking of bad TV, I watched the entire season of Breaking Amish in a day while I was on maternity leave! But those early days go by fast, enjoy them all! That's great Kaye is doing so well, 1 bad day sounds like a win!

  23. Oh I'm loving Kaye's crying faces...so cute. Sad that she's crying and all, but so cute nonetheless. And I can't imagine how different it is with two...so since you will be a pro by the time I pop out my next, can you puh-lease come over and take care of mine?!? Cuz you make it look easy.
