3 | once a week my saint of a farmer takes our little gal for the entire day. it's an understatement to say i look forward to it A LOT. like…more than i look forward to eating an entire box of samoa girl scout cookies. anyway…farmer took kaye on wednesday and i took myself to a movie…complete with popcorn, of course. the wolf of wall street  is…ummm…fantastic. as in…so so good. granted you're going to see a lot of boobies and vaginas. a lot of effing and drug use. you may even see leonardo do some blow into a gal's bootie. (you've been warned.) aside from all that…it's a great story. i recommend…just don't take your mom…or your dad.

4 | i took my best gal to her second week of gymnastics. with each minute that ticks by in the class my dreams of being a stage mom are being crushed. maybe she needs a super cute leotard to get her in the spirit? we're talking…the worst kid in the class. i actually had to pick her up off the floor and take her outside to calm down after epic fit #3 was thrown. the other moms were looking at me with one of two expressions: 1 - thank god that's not my kids. 2 - i feel so bad for that mom…and thank god that's not my kid.

5 | a little prayer for spring - please dear god bring the winds down from 65 mph to 5 - none. i'd love to start running outside. kaye would love to play outside. my farmer would love to not get dirt blasted as he works on his tractors. amen.

it's linkup time.

  1. That's so awesome your husband takes the babe for a day each week so you can have some alone "me" time!
I've heard crazy things about that movie, haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure we will rent it once it's out on dvd!
Give gymnastics some time ;) when my step daughter started, it was pretty bad and she is totally uncoordinated, but she's been going a couple years now and it's AMAZING what she can do! xx

  5. I envy the time you had to yourself! I practically have to beg to be able to have an hour to myself a week...and all I get to do is go grocery shopping :(

  6. Haha oh no maybe she will be a late bloomer and be an Olympic gymnast!

  9. Right there with you. Samoa girl scout cookies are my weakness and usually I sprint pass the girl scouts so I'm not tempted. But I didn't escape completely this year -- my co-worker brought in homemade samoas! They were over the moon delish! You better believe I didn't just have one... we'll leave it at that. Have a great weekend.

  10. I feel you on the gymnastics episodes! My oldest will be 4 in August - last summer we enrolled her in ballet, and she insisted she wanted to. Got her the outfit and everything. We went and she cried most of the time - when she wasn't crying she just sat in the corner refusing to participate. Awesome mom moment. Giving up isn't technically a great lesson, but she's 3 and we found out it was not worth it at all. We just started gymnastics a little over a month ago, and no meltdowns! Win! She does run over to me around 5 times during the hour to: wipe her nose, go to the bathroom, get something to drink, or for me to kiss a boo-boo - BUT she participates and doesn't cry. Give it some time - hopefully it gets better....and if not - don't feel bad if you give up! :) xoxo

  11. that is awesome about your day "off" :) I can't wait for those days to happen in the future. and number 4? i dream of addilyn being a cute little ballerina in a little leotard but i think she may prefer man grunting and running around in circles. but i'm surely going to attempt it! happy weekend!

  12. Haha...your disclaimer for the movie, now I've got to see it! But seriously, I do want to see it. And I'm sorry your dreams of being a stage mom are being crushed. Maybe a new leotard will help! Hope you have a great weekend :)

  13. Can I just say I feel ya on the samoa cookie front. And did you know Edy's makes samoa ice cream?! Yeah. It's bad. In the best way possible.

  16. Cheers to a day to yourself and loving how you spent it! I miss my movies. We used to go to them...a lot. Not any more. And Wolf of Wall Street is fab...I love all about boobies and vaginas and the blow and the drive from the country club to his house while on ludes. Amazing. I also love that I can say vagina on your blog...or at least in the comments...

  17. hahahaha, I'm seriously hoping your stage mom dreams are still kicking. we saw "wolf of wall street" a few months back and I felt the same... great movie. despite the umm, accenting of girly bits. I also heard somewhere that the F word is said something like 537 times? which I completely believe. while leo rocked the part, I was happy mcconaughey won the oscar for dallas buyer's club.

that little spring print is so whimsical and pretty. love it.

hope you have a great weekend, dollface!

  18. Oh goodness, I so want to see Wolf of Wall Street, but I'm thankful for the warning as I wouldn't want to have my mother watch it with me. Poor girl! Hmm, hopefully the stage mom dreams can be a reality someday. My sister totally kicked her shoe off at one of her performances when she was 3 and by the time she was in high school she was co captain of the cheerleading squad!

  19. I cracked up about the baby gymnastics drama. Maybe Kaye is just bored because she is so much smarter and talented than the other babies.
