it's a five-spot | loving that it's friday

happy day to you fine fine ladies. (and maybe some dudes…but mostly gals.)

in honor of my post from last night…i stuck with the wedding theme. i mean…i didn't have this blog when i was planning my wedding/getting married and it's time to start sharing some of those amazing stories.

1 | did you happen to read p. 1 and p .2 of what REALLY happened on our wedding night? i think about it like it happened to someone else, but no…it really did happen to me. of course. because that kind of stuff happens to me ALL. THE. TIME.

2 | keeping with the wedding theme…you guys…i spent two hours at the social security administration office yesterday to change my last name to match my farmer's...just three and a half years late is all. but two hours?? no wonder i waited so long. i knew it was going to take forever.

3 | another wedding fun fact? i totally did a keg stand in my dress. classy? no. proud of it? absolutely. you will NEVER catch me doing one of those again. NEVER.

back ribs look good on no one. i repeat: NO ONE. please see #4.
4 | something else i'll never do? a carb free diet. i may have been the skinniest i've ever been on my wedding day, but i was also mean (and we're talking MEAN), a total airhead and i would cry hysterically at the drop of a hat. people…you need carbs. you do. i swear. bless my farmer for sticking by me.

5 | now? we've been successfully married for 3.5 years. he's my absolute rock and i love him more and more every day. he's epically wonderful. my parents even wonder how i snagged such an amazing man.

it's what we do on fridays…linking up…

  1. Loving your new design, super cute. I did a crazy diet for my wedding too, never again! I was an emotional mess because I just felt hungry all the time. That last picture is hilarious of you two! And really 3.5 hours at social security that is crazy I think it took all of 10 minutes when I changed my name, DMV was a while other story.

  2. That last picture is hilarious. I didn't change my name on my social security card until 4 months after our wedding... And I still haven't gone to the dmv (whoops).

  4. You looked stunning at your wedding! And, I agree with you about the no carbs diet, thing. I didn't swear them off during my wedding diet, but I was still pretty crabby. Glad that phase is over!

    Happy Friday!

  5. Haha you are so funny. Ugh, changing my name was the FIRST thing I wanted to do...I grew up with a hyphenated name and couldn't wait to have JUST ONE. Soo also, I love how you didn't announce your new last name haha...I guess I got so excited about mine that I changed the name of my blog to my new last name right away...and now I'm like, do I really want the internets to know that about me?? Too late, but I'm probably going to change my blogs name.

  6. I love part two even more now that I've read part one. I can't imagine the fury that would be called Paige if I didn't have carbs but you did look amazing in your dress. Have a great weekend, pretty lady :)

  8. That story of your wedding night is absolutely hilarious! I could only imagine how you felt that night!

My best friend is marrying a farmer this summer and I can totally see her doing a keg stand after most of the crowd leaves. Can't wait !! ;)

  9. I didn't change my name for a year after we were married, I think it's really just a pain in the butt and no one wants to wait in line all day! I did a carb-cycle diet and those low carb days were the absolute worst!

  16. I just love this post! Seriously, y'all are adorable. And I feel your pain about SS, I spent over 4 hours between there and the DMV after I got married. Glad that's over with!

  18. I read part one now but seriously, I did not need to. I got the gist from part 2 alone. You are that good of a writer!

  19. Carbs are my love language. I refuse to even entertain the idea of cutting them out of my diet! You and your husband are adorable, I love your wedding dress!

  20. I don't think I need to read about what happened at your wedding - the pictures just about sum everything up for me. I found my way to your blog from over at I Wore Yoga Pants to Work, it looks like you had a fantastic night (despite the getting lost and getting car sick), but I don't know if I would even try to do a keg stand.
